Meet The Owners Of Pro Craft Painting
Pro-Craft Painting was founded by Robert and Cheryl Edwards in 1994, in San Jose, California. This is our story.
In Training
Robert has a long history of working in the painting trade. He entered his apprenticeship under a Danish master painter named Fritz Holm, who had originally learned how to paint in Denmark, then moved to America where he worked on movie sets in Hollywood.
In the early 1980's, Robert went to work for Fritz Holm in San Jose, California. At that time, Robert was trained on upper scale custom homes measuring 10,000 to 15,000 square feet. Robert says, "To be honest, I started my training at the top of the heap, and in those days, we never did low end painting. Just big, intricate homes where the painting had to be perfect".
A Touch Of Class
Some years later, Robert went to work for other painting companies and finally ended up at Touch of Class Painting. Within a couple of months, Robert had risen to the top of the ranks to become the number 1 painter due to his excellent skills, eye for details, and double-checking his work and leaving the customers happy.
In Business
It was only natural that, with all this experience, it was time to go out on his own. Robert reports, "It was very exciting and scary the first year of business realizing I had no one to fall back on. But after many years of running our own company, I have become quite comfortable with all facets of painting and staining".
Office Managment
Cheryl Edwards, has an extensive background in customer service and account management for companies such as Pac-Tel, AirTouch, Lockheed, Apple Computers, top secret accounts that can't be mentioned, and more. Cheryl's main job was to secure and renew contracts, oversee the contract paperwork, and solve problems with customers and databases. Cheryl says, "This is where I learned the importance of communication and follow-up with each customer". It only seemed natural to use her talents to help build Pro-Craft Painting in its early days.
A Move To Lake Almanor
Robert has enjoyed the Lake Almanor area since 1966, and even has pictures of playing on the Rocky Point beach with his parents and brother, showing the peninsula in the background of the photo.
After camping here with his wife and children, they fell in love with the area and decided to move their family and business. They were attracted to the beautiful surroundings, friendly people, and great atmosphere to raise their kids. They also discovered a good business opportunity for their professional painting company.
Robert, Cheryl, Jake and Hannah enjoy swimming, hiking, jeeping, kayaks, snow shoes, and every other type of mountain fun they can squeeze in.
Robert says, "We have enjoyed these years of being part of this mountain community and providing an honest service that cares about the customers."
